Installing GIT for Windows

With the awesome ability to work with GIT in Visual Studio, it will be a rare instance you would have to have a third-party tool. However, there are some quirky things about Visual Studio that cause problems when trying to work with GIT. Also, sometimes it's just nice to have the command line available for power users.

Getting GIT for Windows will make sure that you have an installed instance of GIT Bash, which gives you all of the power you need to work with a GIT repository when things are not working as expected or Visual Studio is not letting you do some action with GIT you would like to do.

Please note: GIT is available for any machine - not just windows.

If you are using a Mac or Linux, GIT is likely already installed.
